Tutorial 2. Cutting and Sewing a Mock-up.
We have already cut and sewn mock-ups before so I assume you have already accustomed yourself to the whole procedure. I believe illustrating it with comment-free pictures should be more than enough.
I start assembling the mock-up.
I join the central piece with the intermediate one.
I topstitch the seam allowance.
And do the same thing from the other side of the corset.
Then I join the intermediate front piece with the side one.
I topstitch the seam allowance.
And I repeat the same procedure from the other side of the corset.
Next I join the side front piece with the corset back.
I topstitch the seam allowance.
And I sew the other side seam and topstitch its seam allowance.
Then I join the side back piece with the central back piece.
And I topstitch the seam allowance.
I do the same from the other side of the back.
And I start assembling the cups.
I make a stay-stitch along the rounded edge of the cup.
I fold the seam allowance inwards over the stay-stitch and secure it.
And I perform the same procedure with the second cup.
I pin the cup to the body.
And sew it in.
And I do the same with the second cup.
Then I make a stay-stitch along the top edge of the mock-up.
I fold the edge inwards over the stay-stitch and secure it.
The mock-up is ready!
